Fedora with any later version than F12 randomly freezes when (and only when)
Nvidia's proprietary driver(195 or 256) comes into play after at about 1 minute of working.

I am using a Nvidia 9800GTX on a ASRock P43DE with Intel P43 chipset. On other operating systems such as Debian or Ubuntu I don't detect this problem.

Can you give a try with this option in /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia.conf
options nvidia NVreg_EnableMSI=1
