output of "yum check-update"

Yum / pirut are failing with a traceback after installing updates that included the following RPMS:

rpmfusion-free-release-8-5
rpmfusion-nonfree-release-8-5

Attached are the outputs from "yum check-update" and "yum update".

Have you reported a bug against yum in the RH bugzilla? Although the packages you're trying to update are from RPM Fusion, I think this a bug in yum and not the RPM Fusion repos.

I tend to agree -- yum should not fail, even if the data that a repos provides is completely bogus (which afaics is not the case).

Note that you could try try to run yum with debug output "-d 9". You could and should try if you are able to update single packages from RPM Fusion. If you are please continue until you find the package that is confusing yum

There was an existing report:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=471212

To which I added my observation and traceback output.

I applied all the listed updates singly or in groups until I'm left with the following set:

kmod-nvidia.x86_64 173.14.12-5.fc8.2 rpmfusion-nonfre
kmod-nvidia-2.6.26.5-28.fc8.x86_64 173.14.12-5.fc8.1 rpmfusion-nonfre
kmod-nvidia-2.6.26.6-49.fc8.x86_64 173.14.12-5.fc8.2 rpmfusion-nonfre
xorg-x11-drv-nvidia.x86_64 173.14.12-2.fc8 rpmfusion-nonfre
xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs.x86_64 173.14.12-2.fc8 rpmfusion-nonfre

Attempting to update this group of packages (or just xorg-x11-drv-nvidia, which pulls in everything else) produces the attached traceback.

Uninstalling the livna-8-2 repo-config RPM and clearing the yum cache with "yum clear all" fixed the problem.
