Description Jamie Lennox 2011-05-26 03:18:48 CEST
In building broadcom drivers on a F15 system that has no initial network drivers i found that i need the broadcom-wl package and the associated kmod.

broadcom-wl provides wl-kmod-common and requires wl-kmod
(http://pkgs.org/fedora-rawhide/rpmfusion-nonfree-i386/broadcom-wl-5.60.48.36-1.fc13.noarch.rpm.html)

kmod-wl provides wl-kmod and requires kmod-wl
(http://pkgs.org/fedora-rawhide/rpmfusion-nonfree-i386/kmod-wl-5.60.48.36-1.fc13.i686.rpm.html)

kmod-wl requires wl-kmod-common
(http://pkgs.org/fedora-rawhide/rpmfusion-nonfree-i386/kmod-wl-2.6.31.5-127.fc12.i686-5.10.91.9.3-3.fc12.6.i586.rpm.html)

and then we're in trouble.

I had to build these from src.rpm for the newer kernel version and when i rpm -i --nodeps the broadcom-wl package the other two worked and i got wifi drivers, but is there something i'm missing?

Is there something in yum that means these are pulled down correctly and i just missed it when having to individually install packages?

Thanks

You need to install all theses packages at the same time.

Note that we are searching for a new package owner for broadcom.
