Xorg crash log

I have F15 x86_64 installed on three systems with nVidia cards. After an update to 275.09.07, Xorg crashes on startup on the systems with GeForce 6600 (DVI output) and 7600GS (VGA output) cards. Example Xorg log is attached.

It works on the system with an 8400GS.

Package versions:

xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-275.09.07-1.fc15.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs-275.09.07-1.fc15.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-devel-275.09.07-1.fc15.x86_64
akmod-nvidia-275.09.07-1.fc15.x86_64
kmod-nvidia-2.6.38.8-32.fc15.x86_64-275.09.07-1.fc15.1.x86_64

The failing systems work again if the packages are reverted to 270.41.06:

xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-270.41.06-1.fc15.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs-270.41.06-1.fc15.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-devel-270.41.06-1.fc15.x86_64
akmod-nvidia-270.41.06-1.fc15.x86_64
kmod-nvidia-2.6.38.8-32.fc15.x86_64-270.41.06-1.fc15.x86_64

Please attach the output of nvidia-bug-report.sh

Without the output of nvidia-bug-report.sh there is nothing to say about your report. Setting it as INVALID:

Can you check that acpid is installed and started.
yum install acpid && chkconfig acpid on

Please backup you xorg.conf and copy nvidia-xorg.conf from the same directory into xorg.conf and {{reboot}}

Once done, please generate a new nvidia-bug-report.sh

It worked after your recommendations.

After some trial and error, the offending line in my old xorg.conf was this:

    Option "UseEvents" "true"

Thanks for your help.
Comment 7 Nicolas Chauvet 2011-06-25 20:24:05 CEST
UseEvent should have worked, so It could matter to report the problem to nVidia. but I consider the problem solved for me.

Thx for the report.
