 * Support for mplayer2 (http://www.mplayer2.org). It's a fork of mplayer with interesting features like precise seeking, ordered chapters in mkv videos and better pause handling (e.g. seek works while the video is paused).
 * New translation: croatian.
 
 Version 0.6.10:
 
 * New vdpau configuration dialog, which allow to select the vdpau codecs to use.
 * Port for eCS, OS/2 (by Silvan Scherrer).
 * New menu to select the closed caption channel (requires mplayer >= r32607).
 * Possibility to select the seeking method (absolute or relative).
 * Possibility to sort the items of the playlist.

SMPlayer 0.7.1 released

This version include some bug fixes, some of them important. It's highly recommended to update.

Fixes:

    SMPlayer took more than 10 seconds to show when running for the very first time.
    The links to download subtitles from Opensubtitles were wrong.
    SMPlayer crashed in the favorite editor when trying to select a file if the KDE open dialog was used.
    Some translations were missing in the Windows package.


New:

    By default the screenshots are saved in the user's pictures folder instead of the SMPlayer's config folder.
    Now it's possible to change the opensubtitles server.
    Youtube: seeking is slow with flv videos, so now flv videos have the lowest priority.
    Youtube: now it's possible to search and download videos from youtube. This is provided by an external application (in linux you have to install an independent package: smtube).

What about smtube?
I suggest to add it in smplayer package.

smplayer 0.7.1 push to testing repo, you may try it with: 
yum --enablerepo=rpmfusion-free-updates-testing update smplayer

About smtube, I don't know, the patch looks good, we ask at devel Mailing List about at least legal stuff and if they approved for include it, I will do the update.

patch for using system qtsingleapplication

New releases comes very fast now. smplayer-0.8.0 and smtube-1.1 released.

Both using bundled qtsingleapplication, so attaching patch for using system one.

Sorry this is delayed because none of the patches applies correctly on smplayer 8.0

yes , I got a typo :
%patch1 -p1 -b .quazip
%patch1 -p1 -b .qtsingleapplication
and though also qtsingleapplication.patch was applicable .

I just commit smplayer for F17 and devel .

Sorry, I made mistake.

sed -i 's|/usr/local|%{buildroot}%{_prefix}|' Makefile

should be changed to

sed -i 's|/usr/local|%{_prefix}|' Makefile


and

pushd smtube-%{smtube_ver}
make install
popd


should be changed to

pushd smtube-%{smtube_ver}
make install DESTDIR=%{buildroot}
popd

Translations in smtube will be working after fixing this.

I add your suggestion, it is a better scriptlet, but seems to me that do same thing, so won't fix nothing.

yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing smplayer-0.8.0-2.fc17

I will wait about one week to see if anyone find a bug and after that, if not, I will submit to F16 and F15. ok ?

I'm closing this report to finish smplayer updated task.

I tested 0.8.3 windows build in wine but looks like youtube playing still broken.

I'm thinking about, add icons themes and skins. 
Add to same src.rpm and do packages -themes and -skins, what do you think ? 
you may help out by comment it in bug #2485.
