Have you tried multiple files/file types? I'm curious if this only happens with a certain codec or with all. GUI hangs with different files with different codecs. Also GTK GUI crashes if I am trying to open other file when one file already was opened. I've tried recreating the problem with an m4v, flv, webm, mov, and avi and I haven't gotten a single lock up. I'm willing to leave the bug open but if I can't recreate it then there's no way for me to troubleshoot it. It can be reproduced with uninstalled pulseaudio, if AlsaDefault audio output selected. Well I'm not uninstalling PA but I did change my preference to AlsaDefault and still could not reproduce the problem. Why do you uninstall PA? It seems to work pretty well these days. You can't reproduce bug if pulseaudio package (and deps) installed and pulseaudio process running. Pulseaudio consumes too much CPU with some drivers, so I need to remove it. All apps works fine without pulseaudio except avidemux 2.6.0. avidemux 2.5.6 works fine with ALSA and if 2.6.0 have ALSA option then it also should work. I still don't have a direct fix for this but you can try the new packages to see if there's any difference. Can you confirm if the problem still exists? http://buildsys.rpmfusion.org/plague-results/ 2.6.1 still hangs with AlsaDefault audio device. Works fine with AlsaHw0 as in 2.6.0. (In reply to comment #9) > 2.6.1 still hangs with AlsaDefault audio device. > Works fine with AlsaHw0 as in 2.6.0. Are you saying AlsaHw0 is a workaround? I don't have high hopes of upstream fixing this quickly and I really don't want it to be a blocker for continuing to package 2.6.X. (In reply to comment #10) > Are you saying AlsaHw0 is a workaround? Yes. Ok, 2.6.3 is working it's way through RPM Fusion. I would not assume the problem has been fixed but it's worth trying. My only recommendation at this point is to use the QT interface until someone upstream fixes the GTK interface. I've asked a couple of different ways over the last few months on the avidemux forums and the only answer I've gotten is that the GTK interface is not being maintained so I have no way to fix this issue. |
