Description Mikko 2013-08-22 10:44:07 CEST
I'm using yle-dl (also in the RPM Fusion repository), a rtmpdump front-end for downloading from the Finnish public broadcaster YLE's site. Yle-dl works on F18 but not on F19. The problem seems to be that the rtmpdump executable in the F19 package crashes when yle-dl attempts to use it. Other front-ends, such as youtube-dl, seem to work, so the crash seems to be specific to yle-dl. Yle-dl does fetch the title of the stream, but then rtmpdump dies silently, without downloading any video or audio data.

I installed the previous rtmpdump package (packaged for F17, found in the F18 repo) and the required libraries on my F19 system, and now the current yle-dl does work. The two rtmpdump packages are apparently compiled from the same source snapshot, so the problem seems to be in the compile environment or runtime. I'm running a 64-bit system. The versions:

rtmpdump-2.4-0.2.20110811gitc58cfb3e.fc17.x86_64 (works with yle-dl)

rtmpdump-2.4-0.3.20110811gitc58cfb3e.fc19.x86_64 (does not work with yle-dl)

rtmpdump will be updated.

Because the updated package breaks the soname, I won't update F19.

The F20 package should fix your problem.
