VLC 2.1 comes with many new enhancements and features but it is missing from RPMFusion Free repository for Fedora 19.

Just a note that RPM Fusion does ship VLC 2.1 for Fedora 20.

No, there is an ABI break, so I only expect to have vlc 2.1.x on f20+
One could make it on an external repository. (I could even make it on my own rpms.kwizart.net later), but it will cost to rebuilt every vlc dependencies).
