(In reply to comment #0) > This is with xorg-x11-drv-fglrx-8.561-6.8.12.fc10.i386.rpm. minor detail: then next time file it as bug against xorg-x11-drv-fglrx ;-) So X does start correctly, it's just the ATI driver won't remember your settings unless you copy /etc/ati/amdpcsdb.default to /etc/ati/amdpcsdb? If I have to copy the defaults back to /etc/ati/amdpcsdb it is because X does not start correctly. If I do not use aticonfig, X will start and stop as normal. If I use aticonfig while the X session is open to solve the under scanning problem, it works OK, but then if I restart X, I have a black screen even in console mode. The only way to get my display back (even after a reboot) is to reset the /etc/ati/amdpcsdb file to its default values. Do you still see the problem with the newer Catalyst drivers? Hello, Since I moved to F11, It is working fine with the latest fglrx driver supplied on RPMfusion. What is amazing is that nearly 6 month after the release of the current F13 it seems the ATI driver is still not available ! Better keep my machine running under F11... F13 isn't out quite yet, but the good news is that 10.4 is compatible with F12 so updates will be out soon. |
