Hello, audio is playing fine on all my systems. Some more information? Running the client, the beta client, running it on hdmi, on speakers? Are you running it with or without the steam runtime enabled?

The steam package in Fedora is simply a stub that prompts you for installing the real client from their servers and simply adds the required libraries for running it and showing the initial prompts. It also has not changed recently.

The client is installed, managed, updated and patched by Steam, so in case of a real problem for the missing audio you should open a bug on Valve's github page, as we don't have any control on that:

Audio does not work on both headphones / stereo speakers. I do not use HDMI.
I don't know if I am using Steam runtime, I simply run steam ( /usr/bin/steam %U )
The steam package is steam-1.0.0.47-4.fc20.i686
I attach a screenshot of Help->Steam info.
I have read on internet of troubles about the symbolic link of audio libraries, but I don't know if Fedora is affected by these problems.

RPMFusion is no longer releasing updates for this version of Fedora. This bug
will be set to RESOLVED:EXPIRED next week to reflect this.

If the problem persists after upgrading to the latest version of Fedora, please
update the version field of this bug (and re-open it if it has been closed).

Setting to RESOLVED:EXPIRED since RPMFusion is no longer releasing updates for
this version of Fedora.
