Description Fidel Leon 2014-09-06 01:29:46 CEST
nvidia-settings crashes when selecting "OpenGL/GLX Information".

From console:

$ nvidia-settings

(nvidia-settings:3183): Gdk-ERROR **: The program 'nvidia-settings' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 935 error_code 3 request_code 153 minor_code 4)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
   option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped)
[fidel@biglinux ~]$ which nvidia-settings
/usr/bin/nvidia-settings
[fidel@biglinux ~]$ rpm -qf /usr/bin/nvidia-settings

I can reproduce it each time I try.

Are you sure that you aren't using optimus or else ?
please attach the output of nvidia-bug-report.sh

No, I'm not using Optimus, it's a rather old desktop motherboard with a Nvidia (Gigabyte) GTX560Ti, and I followed the usual procedure for Nvidia drivers.

Well, "unfortunately" I recycled my computer installing "another non-RPM distro", but went back to Fedora 20 some days ago and... nvidia-settings is not crashing anymore. Don't know for sure if any other F20 package was the culprit but my bug it's not happening anymore.

So so given I cannot reproduce either, I'm closing the report.
