We try to stabilize older releases; hence a feature update is not usually on the cards, unless there is serious bug fixes resolved with the release. I might get a chance to look, but would need to get feedback for release of the update on whether it works. Are you willing to provide feedback, and confirm whether the bugs you mention are resolved ? Well, the main reason the update got my attention was because of the update in Fedora, and getting audacity-manual updated from the Fedora repo but not audacity itself. It just doesn't sit right. As it happens, I have been having considerable bugginess in audacity-freeworld-2.0.4-3. I was just going to wait for the next version, and hope that fixed it. I haven't been able to figure out good minimal test cases, especially since I suspect some of my configuration outside of audacity might be involved. But, offhand, I've been getting a lot of freezes after playing the track(s) or modifying them, and then it tries to recover the previous project next time I start it up, and generally (maybe always?) fails. Just recently, when I opened a moderately old project (about half a year old), it played as though it had been run through the "Change pitch" filter, at what seemed like the right speed, but maybe a couple of octaves lower. Since that's cropped up well after the last audacity-freeworld update, I suspect it might be due to some related library that's updated in the meantime, but again, just a guess. Anyway, "bugs I mention" was pretty much none, not knowing what was new in the upstream versions, but I was looking forward to finding out (while still being able to import MP3s etc. of course). Without knowing what those changes have been yet, I could hardly say anything about them yet. But yes, I'd be willing to provide feedback, as best I can. *** Bug 3396 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I've started work on this, but having some issues building in mock for f20,f21,rawhide. Hopefully not long now. The build should complete in the next half hour or so. F21 is already complete: <http://buildsys.rpmfusion.org/plague-results/fedora-21-rpmfusion_free/audacity-freeworld/2.0.6-1.fc21/> F20 is also complete: <http://buildsys.rpmfusion.org/plague-results/fedora-21-rpmfusion_free/audacity-freeworld/2.0.6-1.fc21/> My testing so far is successful; can you please test also, especially mp3 import/export and ffmpeg import/export ? So far, MP3 import/export and ffmpeg export seem fine to me. I'm guessing that if I import a .m4a, that uses ffmpeg? If so, then the import too. No regressions come to light yet. There is one oddity that was there in the past, too. When I go to open a file, and the dialog pops up, the file selection past is blank, until I move the scroll bar or something like that. Separate bug if I really want to worry about it, of course, and it might just be something with my GTK settings or some such. Also, you pasted the same link for the F21 version twice. I don't have any F20 myself, but in case someone else is looking for it: <http://buildsys.rpmfusion.org/plague-results/fedora-20-rpmfusion_free/audacity-freeworld/2.0.6-1.fc20/x86_64/>. Thanks for the good work! RPMFusion is no longer releasing updates for this version of Fedora. This bug will be set to RESOLVED:EXPIRED next week to reflect this. If the problem persists after upgrading to the latest version of Fedora, please update the version field of this bug (and re-open it if it has been closed). Setting to RESOLVED:EXPIRED since RPMFusion is no longer releasing updates for this version of Fedora. |
