vlc-0.9.9-0.4rc2.fc11 doesn't build against current x264 (.so version 67). Please either backport the following patches from git:

or update to a more recent snapshot. Anything newer than Wed, 11 Mar 2009 23:47:13 UTC should be fine.

I'm not woried about vlc and faad, the next vlc is pending official announcement (for a preliminary testing release cycle),
Once done (hours, day) I will update the rawhide version.
