Description Matt G 2017-08-23 18:53:27 CEST
MPV doesn't prevent the gnome screen saver/screen dim functions when switching a video to fullscreen.

This doesn't happen on F24 F25, or if I recall the previous version on F26

Version with bug: mpv.x86_64 0.26.0-2.fc26

From man mpv:

       --stop-screensaver, --no-stop-screensaver
Turns off the screensaver (or screen blanker and similar mechanisms) at startup and turns it on again on exit (default: yes). The screensaver is always re-enabled when the player is paused.

This is not supported on all video outputs or platforms. Sometimes it is implemented, but does not work (known to happen with GNOME). You might be able to work around this using --heartbeat-cmd instead.

Are you sure this is mpv related and not GNOME related bug?

Could you try explicitly with --stop-screensaver?

Hi, thanks for the reply, neither options work though, screen still dims unfortunately

Cool. Leigh, could you pleas apply the patches? I'm not able to do it before next Friday.

Sorry for the noise, these changes and revert are after 0.26 release.

Upstream will need to fix this.
