I recently upgraded from Fedora 23 to Fedora 27.
Also VLC was upgraded from v2.2.4 to v3.0.0

Now dvb-subtitles (dvbs) has stopped working. I used to be able to show them enabling from Menu: Subtitle>SubTrack>* in the older VLC.

"main error: Codec `dvbs' (DVB Subtitles) is not supported."

Your VLC version is miscompiled."

Current version is now at vlc-3.0.0-0.48.git20180109.rc5.fc26.x86_64
which restore the dvbs support upstream.

dnf update --refresh

Ok. Thanks.
I did make a search for vlc bugs before reporting, but it didn't list that:

Ahh...and I see why now, it lists only "open" bugs and that was resolved. Wiser next time.
