The 5.2.16 release of VirtualBox is missing the corresponding akmod and kmod packages in the EL7 repo. The latest release is 5.2.12 in those repos, despite having the 5.2.16 VirtualBox-server package available. Yum complains about unsolvable dependencies.

The f28 repos contain the proper akmod and kmod packages.

VirtualBox-kmod-5.2.16-1.el7 it is in updates stable repo .
