I don't think there is any real faac users anymore. (beyound gst-bad-nonfree and dream). But there are still faad2 users. I expect it's the same here.

If one volunteers to collect patches and improvements for this project I see no reason not to move to this better maintained version.
Is there any (silent) ABI breakage with this new version ?

(and even if not that much faac users, I think it's best to keep legacy component, specially if still maintained).

faad2 drops xmms support due to removed headers.

abipkgdiff showed no changes for faac so I updated it.
