Description Michael Schwendt 2009-05-08 14:57:10 CEST
/usr/bin/mpd conflicts with mpich2 in Fedora.

See: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/491533

Both packages ought to set a proper "Conflicts" tag.

Comment 2 Adrian Reber 2009-06-29 14:44:52 CEST
The update to mpd-0.15 includes "Conflicts: mpich2" as there seems to be not happening much upstream to resolve this.
Comment 3 Rex Dieter 2014-08-27 17:47:38 CEST
FYI, nothing in fedora provides /usr/bin/mpd anymore (in f20 as far as I can tell), so I'd say this Conflicts is no longer required

I think same too
was able use rpmrebuild to comment-out the Conflict tag, in order for rpm -i to work
mpd seemed to work as expected

no other package provides mpd

# yum whatprovides "*/bin/mpd"

RPMFusion is no longer releasing updates for this version of Fedora. This bug
will be set to RESOLVED:EXPIRED next week to reflect this.

If the problem persists after upgrading to the latest version of Fedora, please
update the version field of this bug (and re-open it if it has been closed).

See comment 2 - please don't reopen the ticket - file a new one for removing the Conflicts tag.
