Currently only libheif 1.7.0 is available, the latest version is 1.12.0

However this 1.7.0 version, which is the first that supported avif, has some major issues with avif conversion (both in terms of quality and filesize)

Please make 1.12.0 available, as those avif issues are fixed in it.

This new 1.12.0 version is only in rawhide

but all others (e.g. EL8) is still at 1.7.0 https://repology.org/project/libheif/versions
