Description rpmfusion 2023-06-25 18:15:33 CEST
Installing mesa-va-drivers-freeworld on F38 fails because the mesa version in rpmfusion is ahead of Fedora:

$ sudo dnf install mesa-va-drivers-freeworld
Last metadata expiration check: 3:03:23 ago on Sun 25 Jun 2023 03:07:19 PM CEST.
Dependencies resolved.

 Problem: cannot install the best candidate for the job
  - nothing provides mesa-filesystem(x86-64) = 23.1.3 needed by mesa-va-drivers-freeworld-23.1.3-1.fc38.x86_64 from rpmfusion-free-updates

[...]

$ rpm -q mesa-filesystem
mesa-filesystem-23.1.2-1.fc38.x86_64
mesa-filesystem-23.1.2-1.fc38.i686

dnf will install mesa-va-drivers-freeworld-23.0.2-1.fc38 instead, with this installed I'm encountering some other issues, and I'm not sure these are related to the version mismatch or not.

Same experience here. 'mesa-filesystem' >= '23.1.3' is not currently available on Fedora 38 or Rawhide (https://packages.fedoraproject.org/pkgs/mesa/mesa-filesystem/). Can the build script be improved to either fail the package or push it to 'rpmfusion-free-updates-testing' first?

Also affects mesa-vdpau-drivers-freeworld.

Pinged upstream for an update.

Can we, in the meantime, untag 23.1.3 from rpmfusion and build/tag 23.1.2?

The Fedora update just went to stable. You should see it in your local mirror in a few hours. This issue is now resolved.

Hello,

This is not the first time. What is the issue here? What's prevent syncing with Fedora?

Best regards
