Hi,

with the release of ALMA9 (and probably RHEL9 + other EL9s), the gstreamer1 packages have been upgraded to 1.22.
gstreamer1-plugins-ugly and gstreamer1-plugins-bad-freeworld from rpmfusion are still 1.18.4.1, preventing the update:

$ sudo dnf update
Last metadata expiration check: 2:45:22 ago on Tue 14 Nov 2023 09:25:15 CET.
Error:
 Problem: package gstreamer1-plugins-ugly-free-1.22.1-1.el9.x86_64 conflicts with gstreamer1-plugins-ugly < 1.20.5-2 provided by gstreamer1-plugins-ugly-1.18.4-1.el9.x86_64


Please rebuild 1.22 versions of these packages.

sorry I meant the release of ALMA 9.3 / RHEL 9.3.

I don't get why gst is updated to 1.22.1 when we have 1.22.5 since ages... Red Hat ?!?


Can you test theses scratch build (if they finish) ?

These 2 rpms install cleanly on my x86_64 ALMA9 system and allow a "dnf upgrade" to 9.3 without any conflicts.

Hi,

I think this update may have caused an issue in our installation of Gnome Desktop on Rocky Linux 9.2.


I'm now getting the following conflict:

```
sh-5.1$ sudo dnf groupinstall -y "Server with GUI"
Last metadata expiration check: 0:05:08 ago on Thu Nov 16 20:00:33 2023.
Error: 
 Problem: conflicting requests
  - nothing provides gstreamer1-plugins-ugly-free(x86-64) >= 1.22.1 needed by gstreamer1-plugins-ugly-1:1.22.1-1.el9.x86_64
(try to add '--skip-broken' to skip uninstallable packages or '--nobest' to use not only best candidate packages)
```

It looks like Rocky isn't scheduled to launch 9.3 until Monday it looks like, I'll be trying 9.3 to see if it is resolve as soon as they launch some images.

Unfortunately, we cannot handle multiple pace updates.
(or you would need to handle it yourself with tools like katello)

Some time ago, there were repository to have updates repository ahead of schedule...

Totally understand, you can't support everything all at once.

I'm hoping that this is just because Rocky 9.3 takes longer than Alma and by next week Rocky will have caught up and everything will be great!
